its all over but the crying

I know my last post was months and months ago, I did sit down four or five times with the intention of writing of what was going on in my life and in my travels, but i always deleted what ever came out. this is going to be my last post on my New Zealand blog, considering that i have now left the country. yesterday morning after ridiculous amounts of alcohol i took a flight from wellington where i had spent 8 months of my life to Melbourne in Australia. after only spending one full night in this huge city i have come up with absolutely no real opinion. so plz don't ask. Come Monday morning one of my best mates from Canada will be taking a bus in from Sydney to see what this place is all about and to see if he is going to live here. i guess we will play it by ear from there.
There's not much to tell fo my last five months of living in Wellington, it was windy, it rained a lot and i worked in a pub. my best times where actually when i left. My father came down for just over 2 weeks and with my brother we went down to the south island for a road trip. spent some serious family time witch was due. I will probably not be writing anything on Ozzy. Just don't think i can be asked and i don't think i have anything real to say. its a pretty depressing thought to realize that i now have 12 months of working and saving before i can do what i consider for me to be real travel. i guess if i'm going to be here i should try and get as much surfing and diving in as i can, and take advantage of what ever it is that ppl like about here as posible.

anyways, thank you and good luck out there.

Good Bye Queenstown

well 7 weeks of looking for wrk and nothing, it was very disaponting but realizing i could no longer pay rent, buy food or even alchole i made the desicion with my mate ian to move back to wellington where zak had a job set up for me.
queenstown was really great at first, didnt lots of activites and spent tons of time getting my house all decked out. spending 6 hours in the afternoon every other day looking for work kept me bisy and my friends took up the rest of the time. but when the money started to go, and i got poorer and poorer it becasme a lot less fun. when i left i didnt have enuff money to print off any more CVs.
I am still pretty upset that i couldnt get any money back on a 800 doller ski pass. it took a lot to save for that...
O well, nothing to be done for it now.
anyways time took forword, save some money and get ready to move to australia. i should be leaving for there with some friends and my brother in november.
i will try to get back on and post about my 1000 km hitch-hiking experence to the north island.

Queenstown

well im here. after 5 months for being in new zeland im finnialy where i wanted to be. its great here, so simular to banff where i used to live in alberta. big mountains every where and a gourgus lake at the center. small town with lots of places to go party and have fun.
my brother and his girlfriend gave me a ride to the airport early on sunday morning, no one had got much sleep the night before, there was 12 of us for dinner and i cooked a huge feast of meditarian food, the sangria was flowing all night long, it was defenatly the best way to spend my last night with my friends.
i landed in christchurch and spent the night there to visit with a danish girl named mia. wish i could have had more time to spend with her but it was better then nothing. monday i took another flight into queenstown and a friend of a friend picked me up at the airport. ive been crashing with him for the last few days. im defenatly hoping to get my own place soon though. ive been out looking for a job every day but its hard going, the town is still slow for another 4 weeks but im hoping i will find a place to tide me over for a little bit. yesterday i looked into bying my self a new pair of skis for the season, lets just say its going to be an expensive year, actualy its not just skis every thing is expensive here, worse then banff ever was. i hope the wages are better then in wellington....
my best mate from back home should be here in a few weeks. cant explain how stoked i am about that. espically now that all my friends decided to stay in wellington or go back to wellington, including my little brother. it was good to see him for a week there but it could easly be another 6 months before i see him again, thats asuming we both do make it to the same place in oz otherwise who knows what will happen. but yea ian will be here in a few weeks and a mate of mine i met while i was in colombia should be here in a fortnight too. so its going to be a killer winter. last night i went out with some friends of mine from brazil, we met a cuple more brazilians and a few girls from spain and was out dancing and partying all night. pretty cool not to be speaking english when im out with friends. ive looked into a school here in town that i can take more classes to help perfect my spanish, will have to see what its worth though.
i just got my phone charger back today, left it at the flat back in welington and my friends had to mail it down. never thought i would be one of theose ppl who couldent live with out there cell but wow it was a hard week. espicaily looking for flats and jobs with out it. so many ppl to call and tell im in town.
well life finnaily seems exciting again, so hopfully i will be wrighting more.
lots of love from new zeland

Im saprised ppl still check

well, 4 coments from the family, not bad.
guess i should keep posting, seems like the right thing to do.
after looking at what seems to be hundreds of apartments we finaly got one, not as nice as our dream place but its still a good penthouse place. costing what seems to be a small fourtune but at least we can have pride calling it home for a while.
this weekend i went looking for a job as well. i had scouted out two places that are right on the water, one called shed 5 and the other called dock side. droped off a resume at each. at dock side the waiter took it and came back 2 min later to tell me the chef said i could start on saterday. well alright, havent talked about money or anything but i will show up and see how it goes. im walking home when i get a call from the other restrant, shed 5 asking if i can come in for a intervuie, i turn around and head straight back to where i had come from. the intervuie went well and i started the next day for a trile. at the end of the shift the chef, whos a little scary offered me a position. i said i would have to see about the other place, see how it was there first before i could make a desishion.
dock side was weird, the chef just put me in a corner and i choped parsley and stupid veg for 6 hours, i felt like i was back doing my aprentiship. i was saposed to be testing for a chef de parte position. not a bloody dishwasher. when lunch was done, witch i didnt have any part of i went looking for the chef to talk, he had left, with out looking twice at me. i told them them the place wasent for me and i left too. it was a shame, because he looked and saw some one so young looking he wouldnt take me seriously.
well i called back shed 5 and told them i would take the place. its a bit of a pay cut from what im used too but its an extreamly nice restrant, puts every other place ive ever stepped inside to shame. its where all the big bissness men in town take clients to show off. 200 seat fine dinning, its a calaber of cooking i dont know, theres tons to be learned. i just hope i can handle the chef..

soooooooooo thats whats new and exciting on this side of the world..

Wellington

Well, i told my boss at flames to take the job and shove it!
i quite really good, i didnt mean too, but while i was getting reamed out for somthing totaly stupid, it just sort of came out. i didnt get mad till he refused to pay me for the 30 some hours he owed. he got it good then. balled him out infront of a small croud of ppl. well i had to pay the price for it though, my little brother refused to come a long, and i couldnt stay becasue there wasent enuff work for me. it upset me but i will see him again soon. there was so many things i wanted to do when i finnished work, but after 6 weeks of non stop sunshine while i was working there was a typhoon off the coast of fiji, and we got the tail end of it. this ment 6 days of non stop rain, and the imposability of doing activites that i had been dreaming of. skydiving, kyaking, swimming, para gliding, hiking, i didnt do any of them.

well after siting around hoping for a break in the weather for just under a week i jumped on the kiwi bus that my friend drives and got a free ride down to auckland. got to have lunch with some friends of mine i had met in morroco. and spent the night chillin with a really cool irish friend of mine. the bus the next day was 11 hours and i got in at 6 in the morning. my friend from new york was saposed to get me but couldnt make it that early, so i got a hold of a friend from the west coast states he came to pick me up from the station in his car, got to have some breakfast with him before he headed off to see the north island. so im in wellington, what a great city, i really like it here, only a cuple hundred thousand ppl but it has a big down town witch is where we are staying. we found the nicest apartment, the last tenents where from saterday night live. the place was a huge pent house, we had gone to see it a cuple of times, had meetings, we where all set out to move in the following afternoon then we got a call from the agent saying that they gave it to some girls from iceland. we where totaly gutted, i cant belive how much phisical pain i felt from this. it was a huge hit. between leaving my brother, quiting my job, and losing this apartment its been a tuff time latley. things should get better soon though, theres a huge rugbey tournament called 7s, and when the city slows down after this we think we should be able to get a place to live, then a job, then i can pay off all this stupid debt that i got from traveling threw the states and colombia.
anyways theres an entree, i understand its been a while and i doubt that anyone even checks these sites again, but when im moving around again on the road i will be back to once a week.
lots of love
